Today, I shouted “28 days!” Someone corrected me and said, “There’s only 23 days until Christmas.” I informed him I am capable of counting and that my birthday is twenty eight days from now. MLIAA

If you're a frequenter of the website mylifeisaverage.com, you've probably noticed that for some unexplainable reason, the stories that get voted through to that site are no longer average, and very rarely true. I know there are many veterans of that site who are constantly disappointed by the quality of stories that are published to the site, and would dearly like to return to a place where the stories are actually average. Many fans of the site, however, have said that if we want to read about stories that are actually average, we should stop whining about it and go somewhere else. That is why I have created this blog. Hopefully there will come a time when the stories on MLIA become average again and we can all go back there to enjoy them, but until then, we at least have this.
To share your stories that are ACTUALLY average, you may click on the link below and submit your entries anonymously. This blog will be different than MLIA, however, in that I will actually be going through each story myself and deeming whether they are average or not. Only truly average posts will be posted to the blog.
A couple rules to follow if you'd like to raise the chances of being published to the blog:
1. Begin each story with the word Today, unless it didn't happen today; I in no way encourage lying.
2. Be original. Do not copy other people's stories. Do not copy other people's catch-phrases. If I find out that your story was copied from another website, I can easily delete it. And I will.
3. BE AVERAGE. This means two things: your story should either include something that happens to most people on a regular basis, or at least should be something that people wouldn't be surprised to know happened to you; also, your story should not be any of the following: awesome, amazing, fantastic, extraordinary, great, terrible, horrible, sucky. Likewise, if your story is average, it did NOT make your day, and you did not meet the coolest person ever. I've never met the coolest teacher, kid, old person, or homeless person that ever lived, so I must conclude that is not something the average person does.
4. Tell me about a story that involves YOU as the main character. If your mom said something funny to your brother, let your mom or your brother submit the story. Don't tell me about someone else's life and then insist that it somehow makes YOUR life average. :)
5. End your story with MLIAA.

It has come to my attention that it would be helpful for me to add a comment option. Unfortunately, I am not a web designer, which is why I decided to use Tumblr to host this project. That being said, unless you have a tumblr account I can't make it so that you can comment on each and every post. However, if you would like to contact me directly, instead of going through the submit a story link, I would ask that you use this form instead:
